Not a doctrine. A reflection of a culture we practice together.
The original Burning Man principles were written in 2004 as a reflection of the community’s ethos. The Temple of Lika website carries that culture forward with Consent and Learn And Teach.

Be now here, be nowhere. Experience, participate, be. All this will soon be gone, so make now count.
Cooperation
From how we work together to how we communicate, cooperation is at Nowhere’s core. Together we are stronger.
Inclusion
We welcome everyone for their unique contribution. Include others with respect, consideration and tolerance.
Gifting
We give to help others and because it makes us feel good. Our gifts come from the heart.
Leave No Trace
We care for the environment and take care of our home. We clean up after ourselves and leave nothing behind.
Self Expression
Expression arises from the unique gifts of the individual. Offered as a gift, it respects the rights and liberties of others.
Self Reliance
Take care of yourself in Nowhere’s challenging environment. Give yourself what you need — and ask others for help when you need it.
Participation
The more you do, the more you get back. Join others in play and work. Your contribution is more valuable than you realise.
No Commerce
By removing commerce from our community, we create cooperation and participation. We plan ahead and work together.
Consent
All parties participate from a place of enthusiasm and autonomy. Consent must be explicitly granted by an individual clearly able to grant it.
Learn And Teach
All of us are custodians of our culture. When the opportunity presents itself, we pass knowledge on.
